Juicing: week 2

We need your help!  The honeymoon is over.  It turns out every vegetable in and out of the fridge should not go in the same beverage.  Flax seed oil gathered at the top this morning put the nail in the coffin.  What are some good, healthful recipes for the Jack Lalayne??

I would be thrilled if our juice were this color. Purple cabbage does not a good juice make.

  1. The trick is you need to do fruit and vegg together, 1/3 fruit to 2/3 vegg. I find that certain veggies have too powerful of a taste to play well with others and I just avoid them. Peppers of any kind are a bad decision in my experience. Apples and oranges are always a nice way to make the juice palatable even if it is all vegg and just one apple, or even a half. Also, asparagus works surprisingly well. I have several go to recipes I can share. But I have also started to juice in to the magic bullet and then blend in the flax and leafy greens. Works so much better.

  2. Cucumber base is my choice – it lightens any darker greens you add and is so good for your skin. Favorite recipe of all time: cucumber, celery, apple, kale and mint. So delicious.
